UNBEATEN filly Sunshineanrainbows will take the first step towards joining several of her family members on one of South Australia’s most prestigious honours rolls this weekend.

An impressive winner of her two starts, Sunshineanrainbows is poised to contest a Southern Cross heat at Globe Derby tomorrow night.

By Sweet Lou, Sunshineanrainbows is from Group One star and prolific producer Saved A Corka, which boasts the 2007 Southern Cross Final among her victories.

As a matron Saved A Corka is the dam of Aspiring Artist and Rap Artist which have also enjoyed success in Southern Cross Finals.

Saved A Corka is also a sister to dual Southern Cross star Hes A Corka, with the family including Southern Cross winner, Come On Frank.

Pleased with the two-year-old’s progress, trainer Paul Cavallaro is certain Sunshineanrainbows can maintain her faultless record in coming weeks.

“I have to admit, I knew she had ability but I didn’t expect her to do it like she did in her first start and then she came out and went better in her second start,” Cavallaro said.

“I’ve been more than happy with the way she has put it together at the races.

“Given the improvement she has shown between starts, and her work in the past couple of weeks, I’ve got no doubt she will be better again before the heats.

“I’m confident in saying she is the best filly in the series.”

With Dean Girardi to take the reins, Sunshineanrainbows is a short-priced favourite from barrier four.

Elsewhere on the card Cavallaro has Supercharged and Waitpinga Heritage in the colts’ and geldings’ division, with the latter to make his debut for the prominent horseman.

“I expect them to both go well,” Cavallaro said. “They are up against a few handy ones, and haven’t drawn as well as I would have liked, but hopefully they can get into the Final and draw better in that.”
