Some of the state’s up and coming concession drivers will descend upon Tabcorp Park Menangle on October 29 for Harness Racing New South Wales’ Mates4Harness Young Stars Invitational.

The $20,400 penalty free event will be part of the mammoth NSW Breeders Challenge Finals meeting, where there are five Group 1 races including the $100,000 Len Smith Mile as well as the J.C. Caffyn Plate for indigenous drivers.

“Retaining this recognition of our emerging drivers with the disruption during the coronavirus pandemic was important to HRNSW as was the representative nature across the state,” HRNSW Chief Executive John Dumesny said.

“This group of drivers delivers on those two objectives.

“What is equally important to acknowledge is the quality of drivers will attract the attention of owners and trainers to nominate for what is a penalty free race.

“Aptly our Mates4Harness arm is recognised through the name of the race, as these drivers will develop mateships off the track which will continue on through their careers.”
