They were some of the standouts throughout last year’s Breeders Challenge series and quality pacers Madrid and My Ultimate Byron have delivered in this season’s series too.
The Jarrod Alchin-trained pair won their respective heats of the Breeders Challenge at Menangle Tuesday, each securing a spot in the semi-finals.
My Ultimate Byron rated a slick 1:51.6 to defeat King Tiger in his qualifier.
Madird rated 1:53.1 in hers.
Both pacers were driven by NSW’s leading reinsman Cameron Hart who will team up with Alchin again at Penrith tonight with My Ultimate Jonny in the opening event.
Hart has five drives across the program.
