Lenny now hot favourite for Inters.
After a breath taking performance Lennytheshark at Melton on Friday has been installed a hot favourite for the TABTouch Perth Inter-dominion commence on November 27.
Lennythe shark heads the market at 3.60 for the final on December 13.
Drawn the back line driver Chris Alford was able to get Lenny away from the pegs within the first 400 metres of the Smoken Up Classic ,thanks to some breakneck speed up front set by Keyang Cullen and Avonover.
Alford then followed Queensland Pacing Championship winner Hi Jinx who had claimed the one one position, until the 400 metre mark when Alford sent “Lenny” as he is known as three wide he quickly gathered them in and raced away to win untouched.
Racecaller Dan Mielecki described Lennythesharks brilliant turn of foot as “the dorsal fin goes up in the air and Lenny charged away.”
His time of 1.52.8 was very quick given they slowed down notably in the middle stages but Lenny had 10 metres on his rivals at the finish and zipped home in 27 seconds flat.
The Inters hopes all fly out of Melbourne today on a charter flight to Perth.
