JR Mint’s best daughter El Jays Magic made a successful return to the racetrack in Hobart on Sunday night in the time honoured Tasmanian Cannonball over a mile.
El Jays Magic having her first start in four months following a successful trip to Melbourne which included winning the listed Jane Ellen Classic at Melton.
Despite sitting parked El Jay’s Magic when called on by her driver Erin Holloway the six year old left her opposition standing on the turn to win by 2.5 metres untouched.
El Jays Magic was voted T smanian mare of last season and her win on Sunday will be a boost for her sire JR Mint which now standing in South Australia .
El Jays Magic will be aimed at the George Johnson and possibly another interstate trip to tackle some feature mares’ races.
Recording a mile rate of 1.57.01 El Jays Magic did it comfortably in defeating All I Cab Be that tried hard in the home straight with Star Chamber coming from last to grab third just in advance of the leader Jukebox Music.
Anyone looking to book a mare this season could do much worst than JR Mint at $1100 including GST.
