Auckland’s big meeting last Friday topped the turnovers for harness racing meetings in this country last week.
The meeting, which featured the Roy Purdon Memorial and the ANZAC Cup, had a turnover of $969,647. That put it ahead of Addington, also on Friday, at $763,397, Rangiora (Sunday) $662,916, Invercargill (Saturday) $463,041 and Addington (Tuesday) $418,879.
The combined turnover for the week was $3,277,880, down substantially on the same week last year ($4,125,955) though there was an additional meeting in 2021.
The turnover at Auckland last week augurs well for Friday’s mega meeting that includes the Group One Reharvest Rowe Cup, the Group One Trillian Trust Auckland Cup, the Magness benrow NZSS Northern Mares Classic and the Breckon Farms Northern Trotting Derby.
