Trotters from six different countries will compete for the nearly $US1.2 million in stakemoney on offer for the Elitlopp, with one of the jewels of the European Grand Circuit to be held at Solvalla Raceway, Stockholm on Sunday.
The elite race will be decided through two qualifying rounds and a final on the same day – all over the metric mile – and is the highlight of a three-day carnival expected to attract 50,000 visitors to the Swedish capital.
The first four finishers from each elimination will advance to the final, with the winners of the two eliminations receiving $US25,000 each and the winner of the final a record $US500,000.
