Victoria’s cup reps Arden Rooney and Im Corzin Terror drew gates eight and 13 respectively for the $750,000 two-mile contest, while Messini has drawn barrier nine – second-widest on the front line.
No Doctor Needed has the pole, while Smolda drew well in gate five, one position outside Ohoka Punter and one inside Mossdale Conner.
Tiger Tara has barrier 12 and Sky Major has 15.
The 2014 Holmfield Trot winner at Melton, One Over Da Moon, has the pole for the Group 1 NZ Trotting Free for All, with Monbet drawn alongside in two and Sheemon the trailing draw in 10.
There will be 12 races on NZ Cup Day at Addington Raceway.
