For punters looking at futures markets for the TAB Constellations, an all-important trial at Menangle today (Wednesday) may be of assistance.

The open trial over the 1609m featured many outstanding talents including comeback pacer and former Chariots of Fire winner Jilliby Kung Fu, former New Zealand Cup winner Cruz Bromac, last start WA Pacing Cup winner Wildwest, former Fremantle Cup winner Caviar Star plus last start Gr.1 Ainsworth FFA winner Zeuss Bromac among others.

The above mentioned have all been touted as possible Brisbane winter carnival players.

With a host of feature open class events programmed, the obvious highlights include the Gr.1 $152,500 Garrards Sunshine Sprint on July 16 followed by the Gr.1 $355,000 TAB Blacks A Fake Queensland Championship a week later.

The Jason Grimson trained Cruz Bromac won the trial defeating Jilliby Kung Fu by 4.5 metres with Wildwest a neck away in third in a time of 1:52.3.

Splits of 27.1, 29.9, 28.2 and 27.2 seconds.

Leading reinsman Cam Hart sent him forward from his outside draw and controlled the speed throughout before allowing him to dash-up over the concluding stages.

Cruz Bromac has not started since finished sixth behind King Of Swing in the Gr.1 Allied Express Sprint, a Miracle Mile qualifier at Menangle on February 26.

The Falcon Seelster gelding won the New Zealand Cup back in 2019.

Zeuss Bromac finished 6th (beaten 11.4m) while Caviar Star finished 8th (beaten 17.1m).

TAB currently have a market available for the Blacks A Fake.

The carnival runs from July 9 through until July 23.
