A slashing trial on a brisk Sunday morning at Maryborough has exciting prospect Rock N Roll Doo on target for the TAB Constellations at Albion Park.

The gifted pacer scored decisively for trainer/driver Mick Stanley in the 2190m workout defeating Ghost Of Time and Iolanta.

Rock N Roll Doo rated 1:59.0 while covering his final mile in 1:56.0 and final half in 55.8 seconds.

The obvious target for the big striding gelding is the Gr.1 $305,000 AQWA Constructions Rising Sun on July 9, the opening night of the Albion Park carnival.

“I was thrilled with his effort although he’s still a little on the big side, but he’ll take benefit from the workout, I’ve still got time to have him primed for the Rising Sun so I’m really comfortable with where he’s at right now.” Stanley said.

Rock N Roll Doo has not started since finishing at the rear of the field behind star Spirit Of St Louis pacer in the Gr.1 Schweppes Sprint in a time of 1:48.2.

Three starts ago, Rock N Roll Doo scored in the Gr.2 Paleface Adios Stakes before making a costly gate break in the Gr.1 Chariots of Fire won by Rising Sun bound Better Eclipse.

The Rock N Roll Heaven gelding has won seven of his 22 starts with earnings just shy of $100,000.

Stanley, a brilliant young horseman based near Ballarat, is no stranger to the TAB Constellations in Brisbane and went within a whisker of claiming the Gr.1 Queensland Oaks last year when Soho Broadway was beaten behind fellow Victorian Momentslikethese.

Unfortunately, dual Gr.1 winner Bar Room Banta won’t be making the trip north again following another setback.

Bar Room Banta has not started since winning the 3yo Breeders Challenge Final at Menangle last October.

The gelded son of A Rocknroll Dance has won nine of his 17 starts with more than $250,000 in stakes.

The Rising Sun opens the TAB Constellations carnival at Albion Park, the 3yo and 4yo combined feature, which was held for the first-time last year, was taken out by now North American based star mare Amazing Dream.

The carnival runs from July 9 through until July 23.
