Young reinswoman Hannah Rixon had a night to remember at Menangle last Saturday.
The granddaughter of legendary horseman the late A.D. Turnbull added another success to the family’s record when claiming her first metropolitan victory.
Rixon guided the For A Reason mare Gigi Bob for the milestone – a pacer trained by her father Peter Rixon and bred and raced by her mother Cindy Rixon.
“It was an unreal feeling,” said Rixon.
“I didn’t really expect her to win so it was so exciting.”
That was Rixon’s 38th success in the sulky and has been driving since the 2017/18 season. Meanwhile, there are huge race meetings at Forbes and Coolamon today.
There is a strong eight-race card at Coolamon and Forbes will host a feature meeting that includes the $15,000 Forbes Diggers Cup.
The iForm best bets for today:
Forbes best bet
Race 4: Drive To The Beach (3)
Just drifted back when resuming first up but did enough and draws to win here.
Forbes next best
Race 5: Double Standards (7)
Can get a cosy trail and might be able to be the toughest late.
Around the tracks
Coolamon best bet
Race 8: Hell Of A Memory (5)
Far from disgraced against decent opposition at Wagga and appears too classy.
