Four-year-old mare Seventhreeohseven, named after the Latrobe post code, broke her maiden status at her 13th career start on Sunday night.

Ending up behind the leader, the daughter of Art Major was inclined to over race before working one off at the 600m to race away and score by 3.3m.

“She can have a bit of time off now,” said trainer Brett Jaffray post-race.

“She is eligible for the Granny Smith and as she is improving all the time, we will give her an opportunity at that as she missed out on the two and three-year-old legs as she was in the paddock as she wasn’t good enough and immature,” added Jaffray.

“We turned her out for 12 months and I took her back to Michael Lefevre’s at Pyengana up in the cattle country, and she has been very consistent this time in,” explained Jaffray.

“She is no world beater but she tries, and that is the best thing about her,” added the trainer.

Jaffray races the horse in partnership with his son Scott, Josh Marshall, Pat Bramich and Lyndon Smith.

“It’s their first win and they have now got a photo for the wall, and some had their little kids here, which was good,” explained the trainer, who indicated the connections were planning on celebrating right through to the dawn service.

Leading trainer Ben Yole is well represented at every Tasmanian harness race meeting, and it is no surprise that he is reaching his 100th winner of the 2021 season.

Yole is expected to notch up the ton when he takes a large team to Hobart on Monday but edged closer after training five winners on the Launceston card.

His winners included Queenofdance, Aha Reaction, Hayden Bromac, Kiavino Stride and Reds Good To Go.

Driving honours at the meeting went the way of Conor Crook, who recorded a treble with Cheeky Eagle, Queenofdance and Asante Sana.
