Taking a more hands on approach has been fruitful for Menangle Park horseman Rickie Alchin.
The 34-year-old mentor achieved a career highlight two weeks ago when training and driving a Group 1 double.
The success was with his pacers Soho Rhapsody in the Gold Bracelet Final and Tardelli in the Gold Crown Final at Bathurst on March 25.
Alchin then saluted with another training and driving double at Menangle on Saturday night with Crunch Time and then Watts Up Majestic in the Trotters Foundation Final.
Alchin will take the reins again today at Goulburn on his Huntsville two-year-old Montalbano.
The veteran of one start was bred and is owned by the La Spina family who also race Tardelli with Alchin.
