Four-year-old mare Iden Miss Lucy will be out to continue her love affair of the Hobart track when she lines up in the Downton Property Pace on Friday night.
The Christian Salter prepared pacer has won three races in a 24 start career, with all three wins coming on the Hobart circuit, the most recent effort last Friday where she proved too tough for her rivals in a rating 45 to 52 event.
The daughter of Stonebridge Regal started from a second-row draw and settled one-out and four-back before progressing to race outside the leader for the final 1500m.
Iden Miss Lucy ran to the lead entering the final straight and raced away from her rivals to score by 6.7m over the fast-finishing Slingshot in a mile rate of 2m 1.0s.
On Friday, Iden Miss Lucy will start from barrier four, which gives driver Mark Yole plenty of options in the early stages of the race, particularly after the scratching of pre-post favourite Honey Chicken, who was to be having her first start in the state since arriving from New South Wales in the rating 50 to 54 assignment.
The main dangers to Iden Miss Lucy include recent Burnie placegetter Chris Be Quick and Vonns Angel, who chased home talented mare Forgot The Wallet two starts ago.
Leading trainer Ben Yole is again well represented on the eight-race card, with the Australian and state premiership leader for the 2022 season only being one win away from preparing his 80th winner of the season at the end of the first three months.
The Yole stable prepares six favourites on the card, including; Border Cross (race one), Image Of Starzz (race two), We Salute You (race four), Classie American (race six), Jakes A Joy (race seven) and Baccarat (race eight)
Friday’s Hobart card will be shown on Sky Racing 2, except for race two, which will be televised on Sky Racing 1.
TasracingTV will live stream the meeting on tasracing.com.au, with the first event commencing at 17:50.
Hobart is also the venue for the 2021 Harness Racing Annual awards and Hall Of Fame Dinner on 9 April, with tickets selling fast. Those wishing to attend or encouraged to do so quickly by contacting Tasracing.
