New South Wales harness racing fans have been urged to “Come and see the teal thing” as the industry pledges its extended support for women’s health.
Harness Racing NSW is once again backing the annual WomenCan Team Teal campaign that raises awareness and much-needed funds for ovarian cancer research.
It is the seventh year HRNSW has supported the Team Teal campaign, raising in excess of $200,000 for the cause through on-track performance.
All female drivers across the state will wear teal coloured driving pants until March 15 to raise awareness for the cause.
Adding to this, are the official NSW ambassadors for the campaign that will wear special silks also.
This year’s ambassadors are Amanda Turnbull, Ellen Bartley, KerryAnn Morris, Ashley Hart, Jemma Coney and Grace Panella.
Turnbull will be competing at Bathurst tonight and there are 12 chances throughout the program to add to the tally with the region’s other reinswomen sporting the teal pants.
HRNSW will donate $200 for every female-driven winner in the state during the campaign plus additional funds when any of the ambassadors train or drive a winner in that time.
