Hobby driver Jared Kahlefeldt will be hoping for a change of luck at Riverina Paceway today.
Kahlefeldt has three drives and is just one win away from driving 50 winners.
“I’ve been sitting on 49 for a while so it would be good to crack 50,” Kahlefeldt said.
Last week at this venue Kahlefeldt drove two thirds.
The day prior was an emotional 24 hours for Kahlefeldt after losing his mare in a horrific storm that swept across the region.With a three-week-old Vincent colt at foot, the mare Lettuce Go Pippa was in her paddock when a tree fell and landed on her.
“It was a freak accident but thankfully the guys at Yirribee were on the scene straight away and the mare didn’t suffer.”
The foal was taken to the local vet straight after the incident and thanks to social media, Kahlefeldt was able to find a foster mare for the foal.
