Lot 63 Art Major – Presidents Doll – Presidential Ball

Art Major will go down in history as the richest and best performer from the legendary sire Artsplace, and much like his sire, he has proven to be as huge a success at stud as he was on the racetrack.  His dominance in this country was again on display at the Vicbred Super Series winning both the 2YO Fillies & Colts finals.

A champion sire, he has produced the winners of more than $180-million dollars worldwide. After 14 years of stud duties shared with Blue Chip Farms in New York, he now stands here in Australia full time.

His North American offspring include a trio of impressive World Champions: 2014 “Horse of the Year” JK Shesalady, $2-million winner Art Official, Hypnotic Blue Chip and JK Endofanera . He has been the leading money-winning sire of 2-year-old pacers seven times and has sired the fastest pacer ever to race here, My Field Marshal 1:46.9  winner of $1,403,342.

Art Major’s daughters are now producing some serious winners, the standout as 2019 “2-Year-Old Pacing Colt of the Year,” Tall Dark Stranger.

A magnificent dark bay individual standing 15.3 hands, Tall Dark Stranger was destined for greatness from the day he was named. A $330,000 yearling purchase from the Lexington Selected Sale and was considered to be the premier pacing colt offered in 2018. His race record speaks for itself – Tall Dark Stranger captured many of the sport’s classic and grand circuit events winning 6 consecutive races at 2 and 8 straight at 3.

Tall Dark Stranger was a true champion in every sense of the word displaying true grit, determination and heart each time he stepped onto the racetrack. He is only the second male pacer in 35 years to receive a Dan Patch Award at age 2 and return to be Horse of the Year at 3.
