POPULAR Bathurst trainer and feed merchant, Chris Frisby will stand proud tonight at his home track when two of his horses contest the TAB Inter Dominion heats.

His stable star Our Uncle Sam previously has been placed in an Inter Dominion Grand Final in 2018 and will contest heat four of the series.

Still, he faces an enormous task after drawing gate 12 over the 1730m trip while his stablemate, Aphorism has an even harder assignment in heat six from a wide front-row draw and coming up against the series favourite King Of Swing.

“Firstly, I want to say that it is a credit to the Western Districts trainers, drivers and horses for just competing in the series,” said Frisby.

“No doubt they all have a huge task ahead of them against some stiff opposition, but they have all earned their spots and will do our region proud,” said Frisby.

“The other aspect that I am excited over is having Inter Dominion heats run here at home in front of a local crowd.

“This is the first time in our club’s long history that it has hosted the best horses in the land.

“My blokes have come up with some hard draws and are both quoted at huge odds.

“But they are fit, and both love the track.

“I have every confidence that they will do their best.

“Aphorism is owned by local breeder and trainer Ben Settree, who sent him to us some time back hoping we could get the best out of him.

“He has turned into a really professional racehorse and Ben is rapt.

“Tonight, he has plenty of speed drawn around him so will need luck early, but he does save his best for Bathurst.

“Our Uncle Sam has just meant everything to us over the past few years.

“He has taken us on such a great ride, winning races that we only dared to dream about and being placing in an Inter Dominion.

“He is a seasoned campaigner, and I would not be writing him off.

“He had no luck in his heat run on Saturday night and Anthony believes that he is getting back to near his best, so hopefully he can rack up some handy points and progress to the final.

“We have been humbled by the number of well wishes we have received, for which we are forever grateful.”
