After winning first-up from a spell in Hobart on Tuesday, the Todd Rattray-trained and driven Triple Aitch Fella will be chasing his second win of the week when he lines up in Burnie on Friday night.
Triple Aitch Fella was resuming from a three-month break on Tuesday where he settled one-out and one-back from the 1500m before Rattray produced the pacer three-wide from the 500m to run away from his rivals in the home straight to score by 4 metres in 2m 1.6s.
“He had been working ok and it wasn’t an overly strong field, but he got a good run to finish off well,” said Rattray about Tuesday’s win.
The seven-year-old gelded son of Henry Halo lines up in the Billing Cranes Mobile on Friday, where the pacer has drawn outside of the front-row in the 2180m event and Rattray isn’t concerned about the short back-up.
“He has come through the run well, he has eaten up well and I have given him an easy week,” said the trainer-driver
“With the right run, he should be thereabouts again. It’s not the best draw but it’s a small field, so he should be able to get into the race,” added Rattray
The seven-race Burnie card will be televised on TasracingTV and Sky Racing 2, with the action commencing at 17:35.
Meanwhile, there will be plenty of Tasmanian interest in the Inter Dominion series, which commences at Menangle on 27 November.
The final rankings were released on Thursday, with Max Delight being the highest-ranked pacer with Tasmanian interest at second spot, progressing from 13th after his Victorian Cup win.
Ignatius was ranked in 11th position and was in the winner’s list at Menangle on Saturday night, winning in quick time.
Mach Dan (10th) and Spirit Of St Louis (26th) both have some Tasmanian interest among their ownership groups, making their way into the heats.
Harjeet, who was nominated for the series, was scratched after the second round of rankings were released.
