A strong catalogue of quality bred youngsters is anticipated for the inaugural Shepparton Harness Racing Club’s Yearling Sale to be held at their Kialla racing complex on Sunday, March 6, 2016.
Following on from the success of the Mixed Sale in September, the club is understandably upbeat about the forthcoming yearling sale, particularly as a high percentage of the entries will be Australian Pacing Gold eligible.
The sale is open to pacing and trotting bred yearlings.
Entries close with the Shepparton HRC on December 6.
“We are expecting good quality entries and strong numbers for the sale,” Shepparton HRC board member and sale co-ordinator Ian Chambers said.
“We are extremely grateful for the support we have received from Australian Pacing Gold.”
APG yearlings offered at Shepparton will be eligible for $350,000 Sales races for two-year-old colts and fillies in 2017.
Vendors wishing to nominate their yearling for the APG section of the Shepparton sale have until October 31 to lodge their entry with the APG office.
The sale will be conducted the day after the Group 1 Cranbourne Pacing Cup and is expected to attract buyers from throughout Victoria and the Riverina.
The club will arrange overnight stabling and accommodation for vendors.
The sale will have live streaming with a provision for phone bidding (subject to conditions).
The Goulburn Valley is the heart of the Standardbred breeding industry in Victoria and has been the birthplace of countless top class racehorses down through the years.
