Brilliant four-year-old Nuala is carrying all before her and she looks set to extend her winning sequence to five by proving the master of her 11 rivals in the $18,000 Princi Butchers Pace over 2130m at Gloucester Park on Friday night.
Serpentine trainer Gary Hall sen. is aiming Nuala at the $50,000 Norms Daughter Classic and the $125,000 Mares Classic at Gloucester Park early in December and Friday night’s assignment should hold no terrors for her.
Clint Hall had a tight hold on the mare when she coasted along in front before sprinting over the final 400m section in 27.5sec. to score an effortless victory at a 1.55.8 rate over 1684m at Pinjarra on Monday afternoon. She raced in the breeze before winning easily at Gloucester Park over 2130m at her two previous starts.
Drawn on Nuala’s inside are Nightwatch Lady and Lavra Florence, and these two mares have sound place prospects as does another mare, Maddy White, who will start from the inside of the back line.
The Hall camp should bring up a double with Ideal Justice proving too good for the opposition in the 2536m Robbie and Wendy 25 Years Pace. Ideal Justice has hardly put a foot wrong in his brief career of 12 starts which has produced nine wins, two seconds and a third placing.
He impressed last Friday night when he started from barrier three, took up the running after 400m and sped over the final two quarters in 28.9sec. and 27.7sec. to win by two lengths from Driven, rating 1.55.3 over 1730m.
Borntobeanartist, to be driven by Stuart McDonald for Henley Brook trainer Chelsey Harding, is a smart frontrunner and he has each-way prospects from the No. 1 barrier.
