In-form pacer Nobeer Nomore will be out to complete a winning hat-trick when he lines up in the Kingston-Huon Basketball Association Pace at the Tasmanian Trotting Club’s Southern Basketball Celebration race night in Hobart on Friday.

The four-year-old gelded son of Auckland Reactor broke through for his maiden win on 18 July before backing up with another victory in Hobart last Sunday, with the pacer leading all the way to record both wins.

“I was very happy with his win last week,” said the pacers trainer Wayne Rainbird ahead of Friday’s assignment.

Rainbird told tasracing.com.au after the pacers win on 18 July that he had backed the pacers work off, which he believes attributed to the pacers success and keeping in line with that theory, the trainer has given the pacer a light week on the training track with the short back-up.

“I haven’t done much with him this week. I have only jogged him Monday to Thursday. I haven’t put the hobbles near him,” explained the trainer.

Nobeer Nomore has been driven in his two wins by Paul Hill, and the reinsman retains the drive again on Friday night.

Coming up with barrier two, Rainbird is hopeful the pacer can lead again and reproduce his recent success, but regardless of the result, the trainer has the short term future plans set.

“He likes being in front, it is as simple that. I hope we can lead but regardless of what he does, he will be in the paddock for three to four weeks and then bring him back for the Christmas period,” explained Rainbird.

Friday night’s eight-race card commences at 17:23 and will be televised on Sky Racing 2 and TasracingTV.

Tasracing has implemented additional precautionary measures for all meetings in the state over the next four days, including the segregation of industry from the general public by only allowing licensed participants access to a number of operational locations such as drivers rooms and race day stalls.

It will be mandatory that face masks be worn at all times by anyone aged 12 years and over (unless a lawful exemption applies).
