THE 2021 Bathurst Gold Crown Yearling Sale, the sale which produced Our Uncle Sam and the Pink Bonnet winner Silk Cloud, will be conducted by Graeme Board and Company at the Gold Crown Paceway on Sunday, March 21, starting at 11am.
The sale has attracted 91 lots by 31 different sires including Bettor’s Delight, Art Major, American Ideal, Rock N Roll Heaven, Sweet Lou, Roll With Joe, Sportswriter, Well Said, A Rocknroll Dance, Live Or Die, Warrawee Needy, Betting Line, Bling It On and Shoobee’s Place.
The sale will showcase the first Australian crop of exciting, young sires in Huntsville, Vincent and Fear The Dragon.
There’s siblings to a string of ‘black type’ performers including Dont Hold Back, Courageousnquick, Shes A Runa, My Willow, Perfectly Written, Shoobee Doo, Taylor’s Mill and many more.
Two late entries for the sale seem certain to attract more than usual interest. They are Lot 43A, a Fear The Dragon colt out of the American-bred mare Heavenly Beauty 1:52 ($100,811). A half-brother to a 1:50.4 Meadowlands winner, the colt boasts a $900,000 earner, 10 $200,000 winners and 15 $100,000 winners on his pedigree page.
Lot 5A, a bay colt by Live Or Die, is from the McArdle mare Reiki Franco, a three-quarter sister to Rondel Franco 1:51.6 ($684,003) and a close relative to the Group winners Im Pat’s Delight, Courageousnquick, The Bus and Saveapatrol.
Yearlings are eligible to compete in the Sale Graduate Pace with separate divisions for colts and fillies in 2022. They are also eligible for the NSW Breeders Challenge, NSW Breeders Blue, Bathurst Gold Crown, Breeders Crown, Vicbred and QBred.
The sale will be livestreamed on www.auctionsplus.com.au – click on Bathurst Gold Crown Yearling Sale. Online bidding will also be available through this site but prior registration is required.
