The results of racing over the weekend has given the 2021 Tasmanian Harness Yearling Sale, to be held at Carrick Park on Saturday, a timely boost.
Former USA 3YO Colt of the Year and world champion Betting Line 3, 1:47.4 ($2.2 million), who is represented by three yearlings in the sale, produced two-year-old winners with his first two starters in Australia.
Whataretheodds, a two-year-old gelding, won on debut in 1:56.1 at Pinjarra (WA), while Comet Crusader, a New Zealand bred colt, was a convincing winner in 1:56.6 at Newcastle (NSW).
In America, Betting Line’s first crop to race as two-year-olds last year produced the amazing results of 93 starters from 119 foals, 46 winners including 24 in 1:55 or better and the winners of $1.4 million in stakes.
Betting Line is represented by a colt out of the Safely Kept mare Gracie Barron (Lot 4), a colt from Mieshana Gold (Lot 10) and a filly from the Granny Smith winner Tisu Holly (Lot 13).
Furthermore, Better Amour, a graduate of the 2018 Tasmanian Yearling, notched her third success and took her earnings to more than $35,000 at Launceston.
