The state’s most prestigious harness race did not disappoint, with Vultan Tin taking out the highly coveted TABtouch WA Pacing Cup on Friday night.

In his fourth appearance in the Pacing Cup, the standardbred affectionately known as “Frank”, delighted fans as he crossed the finish line ahead of favourite Chicago Bull.

The thrill continued for Katie Wardlow, who was one of the 12 lucky winners of the TABtouch WA Pacing Cup Ownership Experience.

Katie drew Vultan Tin as her runner in the Cup and was in complete shock when he crossed the line first.

A true family affair, Katie attended the Cup with her husband Rhys – who had previously owned a pacer and worked with thoroughbred trainer Grant Williams for some years.

Her first foray in ownership, Katie won a 5% share in pacer Dreamwalker and $3,000 generously donated by Vultan Tin’s owners the Costello family from their Cup winnings.

Katie couldn’t wait to go home and share the news with her six year old son Archie, with the Wardlow family hoping to invest the cash in a new patio at their home, which will proudly feature Vultan Tin’s name.
