APG’s combination of top quality yearlings and Australasia’s richest 2yo & 3yo race series makes for an irresistible buying proposition.
As one long-term and highly successful APG buyer recently commented:
“the APG sales are an event not to be missed. The APG Sales routinely produce Australia’s leading juveniles and having looked through APG’s sales lists for 2021, I’m delighted by the quality on offer.
“However, it is the unbelievable racing opportunities afforded to APG’s 2021 Sales Graduates that have me even more excited than usual. It is incredible to think that the 400 or so pacing entrants from around Australia will be competing for over $2million in prizemoney, spread across 11 Group One races and 10Group Two races, whilst the 45 APTS trotting yearlings will have their own pair of Group One three year old trotting races”
It is a hard point to argue. After all, last year’s APG Graduates have dominated the two-year old ranks this season, notching up 12 Group One wins for the season.
Some of our young stars from the current season include:
· Bar Room Banta – The fastest 2-year-old ever in Australasia scored a scintillating 1:50.3 win in his NSW Breeders Challenge Semi Final, before backing up the next week to take home the Group One final. Bred by Ray Cahill who will again have some outstanding lots available in the 2021 APG Sales.
· Black Jack Baby – The Shane Quadrio bred Follow The Stars filly was the dominant filly in the West all season, and got her just rewards, winning the Group One Westbred Classic for two-year-old fillies.
· Give Us A Wave – This $60,000 yearling bred by KTC Bloodstock defeated fellow APG graduate, Mighty Ronaldo, to win the $100,000 Group One Westbred Classic for two-year-old colts and geldings.
· Hes Sweet – Bred by Queensland’s Pat Croghan, this colt won gold for his connections by winning the $100,000 Group One QBRED Triad Final for Colts & Geldings.
· Jasper – Bred by Solid Earth, this exciting filly was the leading filly in Queensland in 2020, racing to a dominant victory for his new owners in the $100,000 Group One QBRED Triad Final for Fillies.
· Joanna – Bred by South Australia’s Mark Carey, the star juvenile filly set a track record winning the $100,000 Group One Bathurst Gold Tiara.
· Lady Jadore – Patrician Park’s bargain-priced filly turn into a goldmine for owner-trainer Annie Belton when she brilliantly won the $100,000 Group One 2yo Perth Sales Classic Fillies Final at Gloucester Park
· Mighty Ronaldo – Bred by Trevor Lindsay, this $22,000 purchase has gone on to win the prestigous $100,000 Group One 2yo Golden Slipper for his large band of owners.
· Soho Almasi – Bred by Mat Day, this filly broke the Australasian two-year-old fillies’ mile record when she won the $125,000 Group One NSW Breeders Challenge Final at Menangle.
· Tasty Delight – Consigned by Tracey Lamb, this colt’s victory in the $100,000 Group One Bathurst Gold Crown was undoubtedly one of the toughest, most determined and gritty performances in the 34-year history of the Bathurst Gold Crown.
· Talks Up A Storm – The late Harry Capararo would have been delighted to see his colt set a race record in scoring an easy victory in the $100,000 Group One Perth Sales Classic for two-year-old colts and geldings at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

We are thrilled with the drafts that we have received from our loyal vendors, who have supported APG’s 2021 sales with their usual high calibre selection of yearlings.
As always, there is plenty of “Sire Power” on display, with over 70% of our 2021 catalogue having been sired by highly anticipated first crop stallions or by stallions ranked in the Top 10 on Australia’s or North America’s two-year old sires tables.
Equally, or perhaps even more importantly, APG’s 2021 yearlings hail from some exceptional maternal families with a strong track record of producing some of Australasia’s finest racehorses.
