Many horses continued their winning runs registering back-to-back wins in Launceston on Sunday night including Blame It On Me with a dominant win in the Faithful Park Stud Three Year Old.

Driver Natalee Emery positioned the Big Jim filly outside the leader and proved too tough for her rivals scoring by 12 metres in 1m 58.0s, which was 0.7s outside Lanercost’ age record and only 0.3s outside Nostra Beach’s age/sex record.

Hobart staged a rare Tuesday night meeting where leading trainer Ben Yole prepared a treble on the eight-race card.

The Stars

Yatsenyuk Leis – the Shelley Barnes-trained pacer recorded his third win of the season in a rating 65 to 79 event on Sunday. The gelding settled one-out and two-back before leading up the three-wide line over the final lap to record a tough win in a 57.5s last half mile.

Conor Crook – could win on a broomstick in recent months notching up winner after winner and that included a treble in Launceston on Sunday night, with Crook training one of those winners, Loch Ness Franco.

Jocund – produced brilliant standing start manners to lead all the way to score in the Rare Earth Pace by 5.2 metres for trainer-driver Todd Rattray.

Geoff Smith – Believe In Forever recorded back-to-back wins and continued the winning run for the Northdown based trainer. The win was courtesy of a lovely drive by Rohan Hillier, he weaved his way through the field.

Michael Laugher – has enjoyed a good run in recent weeks and that continued in Hobart on Tuesday night with a training double.

Trial File

Hobart – Monday evening
Three trials were staged on Monday where veteran pacer Upanatom recorded the quickest winning mile rate of the session in 2m 1.1s.

Trained by Tammy Langley, who is a recent addition to the training ranks, the 10-year-old gelded son of Christian Cullen was handled by Tammy’s son Dylan Ford.

From barrier five the pacer showed a little bit of early speed to settle behind the leader before working one off at the 500-metre mark to go on and win the trial by 1.5 metres over Resurgent Storm and Star Chamber who was doing his best work late.

Other winners included Miss Ruby Rose who took out the opening trial in 2m 9.6s for the mile trip and Alaphilppe who rated 2m 3.2s for 2090 metres.

FORMPLUS Black Book

Scotlyn Beach
Trained at Sidmouth by Mark Jones, this six-year-old gelding has had two runs in Tasmania and has led up the three wide line over the final 1000 metres of the race on both occasions. At his most recent effort in Launceston on Sunday, the pacer just peaked on the run late to finish third behind Believe In Forever and Lord Stark after racing wide in a fast last half mile. With a cart into the race, or with better luck with the barrier draw this pacer should be registering his first Tasmanian win in the not too distant future.
