t was a clean sweep for Pepper Tree Farm sires when their progeny took out both of the Group 2 Vicbred Platinum Home Grown Classic finals at Tabcorp Park Melton on Friday night.
The 3YO Colts and Geldings final saw a convincing win for Roll With It (Rock N Roll Heaven x Dazed and Confused) who coasted to the line for an 18.50 metre victory over race favourite, Lewis Lane. With a 27.9 final quarter, Roll With It was described by the race commentator as having “brilliant acceleration” as he flew around most of the field to take the lead on the home turn and then draw away.
The classy colt, who finished his 2YO season with a win at Bendigo on 30 July in the Bertocchi 2YO Pace, made it 2 starts for 2 wins so far in his 3YO season.
The 3YO Fillies final was taken out by Perfectly Written (Sportswriter x Perfecshon) in 1:57.3 with driver Jason Lee positioning the fillly well behind the race leader and then pouncing on the sprint lane for a 3.50 metre victory.
Perfectly Written had 4 starts for 2 wins in her 2YO season including a 1:55.6 win on debut at Tabcorp Park Menangle.
