FIRST prize is a service by either first season sire and champion Australian pacer Poster Boy 1:49.1 $803,310 or World Champion Sweet Lou USA 1:47.0 US$3,478,894. These two stallions have some of the most sought after blood in the world today, with on track performances (and in the case of Sweet Lou USA) siring performances to match.
SECOND prize is a service to the remaining stallion after the first prize winner has chosen.
THIRD and FOURTH prize winners each receive $1,000 service fee vouchers, to be used on service fees for any stallion available from Northern Rivers Equine or Woodlands Stud.
All prizes are for the 2020/21 breeding season. First and second prize are open to all Australian and NZ breeders. The voucher prizes are restricted to WASBA members (not a member? pay $20 Ordinary or $30 Family membership by 12 August 2020 to be eligible).
Poster Boy is by World Champion Somebeachsomewhere USA 1:46.4 US$3,221,299, one of the greatest ever racehorses and sires. His dam is Australian Broodmare of the Year Aston Villa (Artsplace). In a 30 start career Poster Boy has been unplaced only once in his career, winning 7 races as a 2yo, 8 at 3 years, 4 out of 5 as a 4yo including the Chariots of Fire. He also ran 3rd in the Miracle Mile won by Spankem in 1:47.7. Returning to racing after pneumonia put paid to his 4yo season, he won 3 from 3 as a 5yo before retiring sound for a stud career. He is a multiple Group 1 winner, but with limited feature race opportunities, breeders have been given the chance to get in early with this classy stallion.
Sweet Lou is the winner of 33 races from age 2 through to 5. He won over a million dollars in each of his 3yo and 5yo seasons. His sire Yankee Cruiser 1:49.3 is a North American Cup winner and a millionaire in his own right. His dam Sweet Future is also the dam of two times Breeders Crown champion Bettor Sweet 1:47.2 $2,782,353 and she is the granddam of millionaires Youaremycandygirl 1:48.2 and Captain Crunch 1:47.2. Sweet Lou is already on the way as a sire, with World Champion Warrawee Ubeaut 1:48.3, Dancin Lou, Blood Money 1:50, Double Expresso, Sweet On Me etc already representing him at the highest level even with restricted world wide racing in 2020.
