Chaangerr was a top racing filly and mare, the winner on six occasions (five Alexandra Park), 1:58.7, $75,860, DB Fillies heat – 3f (plus second/third in heats), NI Breeders Stakes (final start, aged four); second in DB Fillies final – 3f, third Waikato Cup. Chaangerr was awarded the NZ four year old Pacing Mare of the Year title in 1995. Retired to the broodmare paddock, she commenced breeding immediately leaving her first foal in 1996 (full details later). Chaangerr now enjoys her retirement from breeding on co-owner Rob Carr’s Karaka property.

This is the family of Lady Agnes (N88, DOB 1890)), whose race performance history only really takes in the past fifty to sixty years but has produced numerous stars such as Chokin, Chuin, Kylies Hero, Anvil Vance, Fly Like An Eagle, Mach Doro, Springbank Richard and Chaangerr (see above), Changeover, Eamon Maguire and One Change (see below).

Changeover, Chaangerr’s eighth foal when aged thirteen was her leading performer in mid/late 2000’s. By Direct Scooter line stallion In The Pocket, Changeover was purchased by the ATC (Auckland Trotting Club) 2006 Syndicate at the Australasian Classic Yearling Sale. He commenced racing at two, winning twice and placing on four occasions – NZYSS -2 at Addington.
Significant victories at three (winner of twelve of fifteen NZ starts) included Rising Stars, NZSS – 3, NZYSS, GN/NZ Derbies, Waikato Guineas, Southern Supremacy, Harness Jewels – Emerald plus Breeders Crown – 3 (heat/final) in Australia. As a four year old, he was successful in four of nine starts – Superstars Championship, Taylor Mile and Jewels Emerald – 4, second Messenger.
His crowning glory came as a five year old in 2008 when winning NZ’s pinnacle race the NZ Trotting Cup in a then world record time for 3200m of 3:56.4 together with Spring Cup (third Franklin Cup) and a further four victories from ten starts in Australia including Bendigo Cup, ID heat (fourth in final) and Len Smith Mile at Menangle in a career best mile rate of 1:53.4. In his final season of racing, Changeover won a further three races including Kumeu Summer Cup and Waikato Flying Mile.
All told, Changeover was the winner of twenty nine races (twenty three NZ; eight Addington, seven Alexandra Park/six Australia; one each Menangle and Albion Park), double millionaire ($2,321,677) and thirteen time group winner, six at group one level. He is now a successful sire (two hundred and six in NZ; sixty in Australia) including Group One winners Dizzy Miss Lizzy, Mister Lennox, Changeoverme, Sudden Change; half millionaire Run Oneover and 1:50 pacers Risk (1:48.2US), Glengarry Knight (1:49.2US) and Franco Totem (1:50.0US). Change Stride, a 1:50.0US winner in North America and Chaangerr’s second leading winning progeny with twenty eight victories spread over Northern and Southern Hemisphere locations. Commencing with four victories in NZ (three Addington, one Alexandra Park), second Waikato Guineas, thirds NZSS – 3c, Northern 3YO Stakes, 1:57.7, in Australia, he won a further fifteen races in WA, four of them at Gloucester Park, 1:53.1, second Albany Cup. The winner of nine races in North America, best mile rate of 1:50.0US, total earnings of $362,803.
