Many of Queensland’s best known breeders have thrown their support behind the Redcliffe Yearling Sale to be conducted by Darren Ebert and co. at Redcliffe Paceway on Sunday, April 5.

Burwood Stud, who have bred, prepared or stood the sire of the seven of the eleven Garrard’s Redcliffe Sales Classic 2YO winners, has the biggest draft with 13.

The consignment includes eight yearlings by Changeover, the sire of 2016 Redcliffe Sales Classic winner Change Of Heart, and one by Cammibest, the sire of five Sales Classic winners.

The Garrard family, who sponsor the Redcliffe sale-race series through Garrards Horse & Hound, has nominated seven lots highlighted by two colts from the last ‘down under’ crop of the influential American sire Artsplace.

They are a half-brother to the NSW Derby placegetter R Eleven and a colt from the same family as champion racemare Ameretto and the WA Pacing Cup winner Hilarion Star.

The Garrard’s are also offering three colts and two fillies by highly successful sire Changeover.

Alf Laspina, the breeder of the 2018 Sales Classic winner Regulus, has nominated a Western Terror colt out of Soeur De Lyse (1:55.9), while Martine Dwyer, the breeder of the 2015 Sales Classic winner Leos Best, is offering a Hes Watching half-sister to the Group 1 star.

Other successful breeders with multiple representation are Shawn Grimsey, Neil Badcock, Stephen Dux, Kylie Rasmussen, George Michael, Dale Belford, Jeff Briggs and Bev Massam.

Graduates from the sale are eligible for the Garrard’s Redcliffe Yearling Sale Series with a two-year-old Sale Race Classic worth $100,000 in 2021 and a three-year-old Classic carrying a stake of $35,000 in 2022.

They are also eligible for QBred, Breeders Crown, Bathurst Gold Crown and Vicbred.
