THE father and daughter combination of Steve and Amanda Turnbull were at the height of their powers at Gold Crown Paceway last Wednesday night.
Modern Maestro scored a sound win in the TAB Odds and Even Pace (1730m) at $1.45 favourite.
The seven-year-old bay gelding motored round the outside to win by more than two metres.
Amanda Turnbull was full of praise after ending a winless streak.
‘’He felt good and was always going well and he’s good horse,’’ she said.

It wasn’t long before the master driver was at it again for her astute father powering Better Than Red to an easy win in the Three-Year-Old Colts and Geldings Pace.
Off good gate speed the Betterthancheddar bay/brown gelding dictated terms to win by more than three metres, racking up a double for the Turnbulls.
Nathan Turnbull also grabbed a double, Kotiro creating a hat-trick of wins at Tamworth and Parkes.
The four-year-old bay mare heading to the big smoke after winning the Club Menangle Country Series Heat (1730m).
Turnbull and Kotiro had good gate speed and rushed home over the top ($9.50) to beat hot favourite Spike Robyn, pleasing his owners who were trackside for the win.
‘’He just gets better and has improved a lot after coming here with not a lot of form,’’ he said.
‘’He will go well in the final I reckon.’’
The Bathurst Toyota Ladyship Pace gave Nathan Turnbull a well-earned double with Sweet Luck producing.
The four-year-old bay mare began quickly and the off a strong win at Dubbo made it back-to-back victories.
“She is very good and Josh has done a good job with her,’’ Nathan said.
