The classy Ideal Liner will be at short odds to make it four wins in a row on Friday night at Gloucester Park, but that hasn’t stopped two members of the WA Trotting Media Guild making him their best bet.

The West Australian’s Ernie Manning and longshot guru Pat Harding believe the Gary Hall-trained Ideal Liner will salute.

“Ideal Liner, a Bunbury, Pinjarra and Gloucester Park winner at his past three starts, is back to the form he showed when running a close second to Ana Malak in the $125,000 4YO Classic last November,” Manning said. “Mighty Conqueror, Jack Mac and King Of Swing were among horses he beat home in the classic. He has the impressive tally of four wins from seven Gloucester Park starts.”

And Harding agrees.

“The standout for me and my best bet of the night comes up in race seven,” Harding said. “Coming out of barrier four, Ideal liner should make it four wins in a row. His form is very impressive and this is not a strong field.”

The West Australian’s racing co-ordinator Ryan Havercroft is a Dominate The Dojo fan.

“Dominate The Dojo is ultra-consistent with a win and two seconds from his last three outings,” Havercroft said. “Chris Lewis will utilise barrier three and have the Kevin Keys-trained gelding up on the speed and fighting out the finish.”

TABradio’s Matt Young is keen on Mighty Flying Deal.

“Mighty Flying Deal looks the leader and winner over the longer trip,” Young said. “He has the gate speed to hold up and control the race.”

Novice racecaller Hayden King believes punters should wait until the last race before unloading.

“Know When To Run was simply outstanding last week,” King said. “He was back and wide in quick time. Now, he draws to lead.”

Media Guild president Wayne Currall is tipping Robb Stark to return to winning form.

“Robb Stark finished a creditable sixth being stablemate Ideal Liner last week at GP,” Currall said. “He meets a weaker field tonight and he can really make his presence felt in this nine-horse field.”

VALUE BETS:

ERNIE: One Off Delight has been unplaced at his past seven starts, but barrier one gives him a chance to re-enter the winners’ list. He has won six races, including two at Gloucester Park.

PAT: Patrickthepiranha is a very good horse but has been unplaced at his last four races following a win. He has not had a great deal of luck either, but with only six runners I think he can give punters an excellent return with a good win.

RYAN: Carrera Mach hasn’t returned to the form he showed last campaign but has now had five runs since resuming from a spell. Looks ready to improve after consecutive placings prior to a last-start seventh behind the in-form Ideal Liner.

MATT: I think Golden State will be lit up off the arm, can cross and could be hard to beat. If he doesn’t go forward he is still a winning chance too.

HAYDEN: Conditions suit Mister Ardee and he will certainly be running on at the finish. Just needs the breaks to go his way.

WAYNE: Last-start winner Charlie El should receive the run of the race behind likely leader Mighty Flying Deal. Can sprint fast off a trailing draw and should be each-way value.
