Tonight’s meeting at Gloucester Park will be postponed until tomorrow (22-08-15) due to extreme weather being forecast to hit the city tonight.
With as much as 40mm fallen in the last 18-24hrs, the extreme forecast would make racing very difficult.
CEO Mick Radley said the new track surface has held up to the rain, however the forecast for more heavy rain and storms didn’t look promising – “We could probably race on it now”
Gloucester Park Harness Racing will now run the scheduled meeting tomorrow night with an estimated start time of 7:40pm.
“Stewards decided to make an early call on re-scheduling the meeting until tomorrow night which we support so we don’t inconvenience Trainers and Drivers” said Michael Radley Gloucester Park Chief Executive.
“Due to inclement weather, the stewards have decided not to race at Gloucester Park tonight” Chief Steward Carl Coady.
