MEDIA RELEASE
Transforming racing’s engagement with women is the fundamental goal of the ‘Women in Racing’ survey announced by the industry today.
The New Zealand Racing Board, New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing, Harness Racing New Zealand and Greyhound Racing New Zealand are keen to better understand how women can be more
actively and positively involved in the industry.
Racing in New Zealand is a major industry, generating $1.6 billion to the economy and directly involving almost 60,000 people from breeders to drivers, owners to volunteers.
The survey will examine if the sport of racing is engaging and involving women effectively and whether improvements can be made to make a real difference.
Industry participants, male and female are being asked to go to www.nzrb.co.nz/womeninracing to fill out the anonymous survey that best suits their connection to racing by Friday 22 March.
Industry feedback is vital and will shape how racing moves forward as a sport for all New Zealanders.
