The clash of three top four-year-olds headlines tonight’s eight-event Devonport Harness Racing Club card.

Art Frenzy, Bettabrown Tiger and Ideal Bliss will meet in race three the Sky Racing Pace over the sprint journey of 1930-metre.

Bettabrown Tiger, trained by Melissa Maine, is first up tonight from a seven-month spell.

“He has come back a more mature pacer, he is a big horse with a giant stride but he still has a lot to learn,” said Melissa.

“He won four races from six starts last season but he tends to just lope along as if he is just working at home, he won’t be able to get away with that against the big boys going forward.”

Bettabrown Tiger is the winner of seven of his eight Tasmanian starts with his only defeat in the state coming at the hands of Feelin Dusty.

“He has won his two trials leading into tonight’s first-up run, he was impressive defeating Defrense by 10-metres at the most recent at Carrick a fortnight ago,” said Melissa.

“He had no luck with the barrier and will start from outside the front line while Art Frenzy has drawn one and Ideal Bliss will start from two on the second row.”

Craig Van Dongen’s Art Frenzy has won two from five this season while Ideal Bliss, trained by Paul Hill, is a former Evicus winner and boasts an outstanding record of eight wins from 13 starts.

The Maine stable will also produce Tisu Spirit from a six-month spell in race two the CUB Mobile, the American Ideal- Tisu Holly four-year-old gelding won three of his last four starts prior to a break.

“He looks in good order for tonight’s assignment and would be our best chance given his front line draw,” said Melissa.

“He won three races last season and was in the money in nine of eleven starts last season so he is a very consistent performer.”
