When the Full Noise won on debut as two-year-old in May and beat older horses trainer Brett Gray described him as ‘a dream’ horse.
And he hasn’t changed his mind.
The three-year-old trotting gelding went on to run second to Enhance Your Calm in the juvenile Ruby at his next start, against the odds.
“He was crook, had a snotty nose and only three days work the week of the Jewels,” Gray said,
“He did really well to do what he did.”
Fully recovered, Full Noise has had about eight weeks back as a three-year-old and Gray hasn’t noticed any changes.
“He was perfect last year and is still perfect,” he said.
“I have some nice young trotters coming on but nothing to compare with him. “He’s doing strong work now but I won’t hurry him, the good three-year-old races aren’t till later in the season.
“He’ll probably have a workout before Christmas and then a grade race before stepping up.”
Although Gray’s intention is to give Full Noise an “easy” season, he has an end goal in mind.
“I won’t be dodging the Jewels,” he said.
