TAB Jackpots October
Every Friday night AND Sunday will have a $25,000 Guaranteed Quaddie on the last four races at a Selected Meeting.
Addington – Thursday 11 October
Thursdays meeting at Addington Raceway & Events Centre is headlined by Race 7 Trent Yesberg Ripple Creek Equine Services Handicap Trot for Rating 80 and faster Trotters and features several Used To Me @ Haras des Trotteurs Dominion Trot aspirants.
The rest of the card bring forward some interesting battles including six promising maiden 3 Year Olds in race three. First race kicks off at 5:11pm be sure not to miss out.
Race 3 is only a maiden race but there are several horses with plenty of promise in this field and some of them will progress to tackle some of the feature age group races later in the year. The leading hope appears to be Ultimate Sniper out of the All Stars barn and drawing barrier number two he is the logical horse to beat but don’t treat My Carbon Copy too lightly after a brave performance behind The Moonshadow last start and drawn barrier one he could well trail Ultimate Sniper for the majority of the race which will make him a great danger. Unbeaten in all public appearances Scorcha also looks a strong chance drawing one on the second row may also not work out too bad for her as she looks to win her first start. Chatty Man is another who is in good form, only having four starts he has placed three times and run fourth in the other. Other first start maidens Bettathanfast and Slingshot also have claims to be there at the finish.
Race 4 is the last prelude race for the Graphite Developments Ltd Glenys & Philip Kennard 2018 Show Day Futurity Series. With a few of the more favoured runners drawing badly it has opened the race up and looks like any horse could win. Ava Adore boomed home last start when getting clear, also out of the same race was Held To Ransom who came from near last to run third, similar efforts would have both figuring in the finish. Isla’s Joy performed well in her one start to date, while Adam Patron has done the same in both his starts. Tere The Terminator and Algranco Albyone should be considered.
In Race 6 Hail Christian who was impressive last season will lock horns with Ohanzee, Hayden’s Meddle and Mikey Maguire. Hayden’s Meddle will have a fitness edge on his rivals after a very productive winter and early spring campaign but there is no doubting the ability of Hail Christian and Ohanzee who even fresh up will be ready to rock and roll. Mikey Maguire also performed well throughout winter.
Race 7 this is the feature race of the night and several horses have strong claims to winning this and going on to be successful heading towards the Used To Me @ Haras des Trotteurs Dominion Trot. Winterfell makes his return to the track after being very successful in his 3 Year Old campaign. Muscles Galore has been very impressive since resuming with three starts returning two wins and a second, B D Khaosan ran on very impressively last week against elite company and a similar performance here would have him going very close to winning. Other chances include Amaretto Sun, Jen Jaccka, Hey Yo, Ronald J, Monty Python and Woodstone.
We literally only have three meetings left until Cup Week. Good luck to all leading up to our big week.

ATC 2019 Syndicate:
Over the last two decades, the Auckland Trotting Club has formed 17 syndicates, each comprising either 40 or 50 shares and racing between 2 and 4 horses.
To date, all 17 syndicates have proved, or are proving, very successful:
At this year’s Australasian Classic Yearling Sale or the New Zealand Premier Yearling Sale, the Auckland Trotting Club 2019 Syndicate’s yearlings were selected by the top trainers Robert Dunn, Brent Mangos and Logan Hollis / Shane Robertson:
Name: Alta Redeemer
Trainer: Robert Dunn
Name: Christianshavtime
Trainer: Logan Hollis / Shane Robertson
Name: Bet West
Trainer: Brent Mangos
When you join an ATC Syndicate, not only do you get to enjoy the thrill of owning and racing harness racehorses, but you can also be very involved in Harness Racing generally, initially at Alexandra Park and the wider Auckland/Waikato area and then quite possibly venturing further afield in New Zealand and Australia, as some previous ATC Syndicates have.
There are many advantages involved with being part of one of the Auckland Trotting Club Syndicates. These include; the comparatively low costs, the opportunity to share in the ownership of well bred horses trained by some of the best trainers in New Zealand, making new friendships with like-minded people, having total involvement in the Harness Racing industry and having the opportunity to participate in social events and possibly travel throughout the year.
Every month, syndicate members receive a detailed newsletter documenting each horse’s progress, member news, and other information. Regular updates are placed on a phone-in message service, which can be accessed at anytime from anywhere in New Zealand free of charge.
We have already had syndicate members from a wide geographical location around New Zealand, from Kaeo and Kaitaia in the North, to Dunedin and Invercargill in the South, as well as from the USA, Canada, England, Japan, Australia (Victoria, NSW, Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia) and even Iceland.
Each year of establishing a new Syndicate, the Auckland Trotting Club has implemented their hugely successful formula of buying three richly bred yearlings at the Yearling Sales, with these horses being selected by and trained by some of New Zealand’s leading trainers.

Methven – Sunday 14 October
The Methven Trotting Club is gearing up for the Clubs big meeting of the year this Sunday following on from a very successful spring meeting which had a huge crowd on-course.
Carl Markham and his team have the grounds and track in top order with a good sole of grass and the prospect of big fields should have bettors working hard to come up with winners.
The more serious punters will be lining up to try and win The Brown Pub Punters Challenge which this year is a heat of the nationwide Kiwi Punters Championship.
On the racing front the big interest will be in the strength sapping $30,000 Alabar Methven Cup along with the What The Hill Trotbred Combo for the trotting mares. Alabar Stud is a new and welcome addition to the clubs sponsors while Woodlands Stud continues to sponsor the mares trot.
In other news club president Hamish Molloy reports along with other Canterbury clubs progress on streamlining some common areas to reduce overall costs and enhance profitability as country racing looks to the future.
So come out Sunday and enjoy some rural hospitality and beautiful scenery at the Mt. Harding racecourse Methven.
