Addington Hall of Fame inductee, Colin Berry, took his final race photograph under working conditions when Tuapeka Trick was successful in Race 10 at Addington on Friday night.
Berry, who started working at Addington in 1956 as an assistant to the Photo Finish Operator, completed his final night working at the track in his usual humble fashion.
He has been responsible for some of the most iconic photographs taken in our industry, including the famous Addington fire photo 1961 Free-For-All at Addington as Cardigan Bay led the field, whilst the grandstand burned in the background.
When inducted into the Hall Of Fame at Addington Berry stated his favourite tracks included Addington and also the picturesque South Bay Racecourse in Kaikoura.
We would like to thank Colin for his passion and dedication to the racing industry, and thank him for the friendly and professional manner in which he conducted himself during his career.
Berry was a guest on the Harness Half Hour on Trackside Radio last year where he discussed his career and highlights. To hear this interview click here
