Wednesday – Cambridge
A quiet start to the week at Cambridge. The worst result for us came via one of the longer priced winners in Magical Miss. She opened @ $19 & was backed into $12. Kiwi Tintin was very solid @ $3.80, Tickle Me Pink got the job done in R1 @ $1.35-$1.40 and punters were also onto Agioncourt @ $4. The largest miss of the meeting was $1,500 Linc’s Bute Girl Top3 @ $1.60.
Thursday – Timaru @ Addington
A late surge of support for Queen Bee Bardon was the story of Thursday night. $4,000 & $5,000 bets on her @ $2.70 netted nice profits. Pat Campbell & Better Decision were other well backed favourites that score for punters. A couple of bets that lessened our pain were $5,000 Tall Poppy @ $3.10 and $3,300 One Apollo @ $3.70.
Friday – Auckland
Rowe Cup & Messenger night was a mixed bag on Friday night. Winterfell bolted home to justify his short price in the Northern Derby, a $10,000 bet @ $1.35 there. $1,000 on Sex On Fire @ $4.60 was also very lucrative. Races 3 & 4 were interesting in that two horses in each held most of the win money with the one with slightly less on getting home, they being Habibi Inta & Kayla Marie. Eamon Maguire in the Messenger & Star Of Montanna in the last were other very well backed winners. Race two proved to be the best for us with $5,000 on Henry Hubert @ $2.70 & $3,600 Top3 Rain Man @ $1.55 both missing out. Enghien was well backed in the Rowe cup but Speeding Spur also had support @ $4.20-$4.40.
Saturday – Ashburton
Abandoned.
Sunday – Invercargill
Diamonds day on Sunday & there were quite a few big bets. A great win for the locals in the Southern Supremacy Final by The Duke Of Wellington but that wasn’t good for us. Bets of $1,000 @ $4.50 & $2,000 @ $4.40 the best of many on him. $2,000 Especial @ $4.20, $5,000 Franco Santino @ $1.95 Top3 and $10,000 A Bettor Act @ $1.42 also got the money. The biggest miss of the day was Black Ops. $4,000 bets @ $1.50 & $1.45 as well as another $10,000 @ $1.45 were the tip of that Iceberg. My Wee Man attracted bets of $3,000 @ $3.70 & $3,700 @ $3.60 & helped us out somewhat.
