Tickle Me Pink showed she would be a force to reckoned with in upcoming juvenile features when narrowly winning the $9,200 Cambridge 2YO Trotting Stakes on Wednesday evening in a New Zealand Record time.
The blueblood filly is a full sister to star three-year-old Luby Ann, a recent winner of both the New Zealand Trotting Oaks and Derby.
She trotted the 1700-metre mobile in 2.07.2 (2.00.4 MR), lowering the previous mark by 0.3 seconds, set by High Gait three years ago.
Tony Herlihy trains and drove the daughter of Muscle Hill, who will now be set for the $125,000 2YO Ruby at Cambridge on June 2.
Due to being retained by breeders Breckon Farms, she is ineligible for the upcoming Sales Series Trot at Addington next month.
Tickle Me Pink is currently a $5.50 third favourite for the Ruby behind unbeaten All Stars beast Enhance Your Calm and Sunday’s debut winner for Phil Williamson, Oscar Bonavena.

It’s been a landmark season for Ardmore trainer Steve Telfer, who has been kicking goals right from the outset with a large stable of quality horses.
The North Island’s leading trainer this term equaled his previous highest seasonal tally with a double at Cambridge on Wednesday night.
He won with both Some Change and Kiwi Tintin, the latter his 41st winner of the season with three months still remaining.
Some Change was formerly trained by Geoff Small and raced on lease by an Auckland Trotting Club syndicate, but Small has all but retired from training and the horse was returned to his breeders and owners, Rob Carr and Don Kirkbrid
