Ashburton Trotting Club – Saturday 28 April
The Ashburton Trotting Club is racing this Saturday with the first race scheduled for 11.50am.
It is our sponsor’s promotion day which is run each year. If any owners that are attending they are welcome to come to the race day office and get an owners ribbon which entitles them entry to the stand and stabling area. Plus they receive 20 percent discount on any refreshments.
Southern Harness Diamonds Day – 29 April
One of the big days on the Southern Harness Racing calendar – Diamonds Day – is set to shine again at Ascot Park Raceway in Invercargill this Sunday – 29 April.
The event is the culmination of several of the major harness race series in the south with feature events including the finals of the Macca Lodge/Nevele R Stud Southland Oaks and the Alabar Southern Supremacy Stakes, both races run over 2700m for a stake of $45,000. The bMAC Sheetmetal Southern Country Cups Handicap Pace also over 2700m for a stake of $25,000 is another feature as is the Group 3 Diamond Creek Farm 2yo Classic raced for a stake of $45,000 over 2200m. Good fields abound throughout the day so this is the race meeting to be trackside for high class harness racing.
On course patrons also have the opportunity to win in several competitions on course. Included among these is the Level One Restaurant & Bar Lucky Losing Ticket draw after Race 6 where a lucky losing ticket will win a $50 meal voucher from the sponsor, a horseshoe pitching competition and a quiz. The children are not left out as they will receive a free bag of lollies after Race 6.
Eleven high quality harness races are programmed with the first scheduled for 11.30am. Admission to the course is free.
Other dates for the Invercargill Harness Racing Club before the season ends include Saturday 5 May, 26 May and 9 June as well as Queens Birthday Monday 4 June.
Wairarapa Harness Racing Club – 1 May
The Wairarapa Harness Racing Club would like to invite all owners to join their committee for some free hospitality throughout the afternoon of their meeting on Tuesday 1 May.
An email will be sent to all owners with a horse in at the meeting to present on the day to gain their owners privileges.

Timaru HRC – Mother’s Day Meeting 13 May

The drivers contacted have been very excited about being involved, especially the young new horsewomen coming through the ranks.
It is also pleasing to highlight our experienced women drivers who are having a good driving season e.g. Amber Lethaby, Katie Cox, Sam Ottley.
Motukarara Workouts and Trials
Please note that following this weekend there will not be workouts held at Motukarara during May, June and July.
Trials are scheduled for Tuesday 24 April.
