Harness Bookmaker Richard Wilson provides a weekly update of the major winning and losing bets from the past week.

Group races at both ends of the country and grass track racing on the coast were the features of another busy week.

Wednesday – Cambridge
Punters off to a good start to the week with an unusual Cambridge meeting on Wednesday night.  The best bet was $500 on Credit Master @ $9, & $700 Stars Delight @ $6 provided a good return as well.  Betting in most races was well spread but a couple of well backed runners that missed were Queen Lostris @ $2.30-$2.40 and Trouble Giero @ $2.90-$3.

Thursday – Forbury Park
A few long priced winners at Forbury on Thusday night but punters were onto most of them to some degree.  $200 Win & $600 Top3 on Sky City King @ $31 & $7.50 was a big result for one punter.  $4,500 Get It On @ $1.70 was a good return although it looked a little shakey midrace.  The biggest miss was $3,000 Easton Foxglove @ $3.10.

Friday – Westport
A tough day at Westport with some well backed runners rolling home.  $4,000 Skipperland @ $2.20 was the best with $1,000 Red Hot Rocket @ $4 and $400 Franco Tristan @ $8.50 also very good.  Getarattleon, Stompem and James Dean were well backed runners that missed.

Friday – Auckland
Derby night and the Purdon/Rasmussen stable dominated the features, winning all 4 races they contested.  The best bet was $1,000 on the special for them to win all 4 races @ $3.50.  Plenty of big bets on Jesse Duke: $8,000 & $4,000 @ $1.50, two $4,000 @ $1.45 had a nervous first 1200m of the race but he scored an amazing win in the end.  Princess Tiffany was well supported @ $1.65 & Chase Auckland got his army of supporters home @ $1.35.  American Empress was somewhat of a plunge horse that missed.  $500 @ $8.20, $500 @ $7 & $1,000 @ $6.50 were the largest of a swag of bets on her.

Saturday – Invercargill (Northern Southland T.C.)
Feature racing in the South with the Norther Southland Cup & Southern Lights Trot.  A plunge in another of the features with Luby Lou the big mover in the Trotting Oaks.  $2,000 & $1,500 bets @ $4 and $3,200 @ $2.90 the tip of a large iceburg that bolted in.  More The Better was well backed & won the Cup fresh up after Another Masterpiece & Bettor Be Gold won the first two races to kick off everyones multis.  Saving our bacon a little were the misses of Dracarys, $3,000 @ $1.80 and The Bus in R7.  The biggest move of the week came in R3 with Arushi plunged from $12 into $3.50.  $900 @ $12 & $1,200 @ $8 got the ball rolling & the bets hardly let-up until start time.

Sunday – Reefton
Punters back in form with day2 on the Coast.  $900 Chromozone @ $6.50 and $1,000 Pradahs Ideal Dahling Top3 @ $5.20 were to top bets.  $1,000 Swap Over @ $4.60 provided a nice collect as well.  Thankfully $1,500 @ $2.30 & $1,400 @ $2.20 bets on Motu Bettor Be Quick, along with $1,600 Getarattleon @ $1.70 helped us keep our heads above the water-line.

Multi of the Week:
$500 Boxed Multi @ Cambridge Wednesday
Ideal Star @ $2.20
Sea Of Gold (Top3) @ $1.70
Yasmine Bromac (Top3) @ $5
Credit Master (Top3) @ $2.90
Idealistic (Top3) @ $2.05
Returned $28,494.60
