The New Zealand Team Teal Ambassadors have gone glam.
Our three national ambassadors, Nicky Chilcott, Sheree Tomlinson and Samantha Ottley, feature in this week’s edition of the New Zealand Woman’s Day which hit shelves today (Monday 26 February).
The mainstream coverage will help spread the message about Ovarian Cancer and the great effort the harness racing industry has gone to in helping to raise awareness around the silent killer.
A photo shoot took place recently at Alexandra Park, which included a full hair and makeup team, wardrobe changes including a glamourous fashion shoot and photographer. Providing a unique opportunity to get the three women together and tell their stories.
Nicky’s mother Lyn is a cervical cancer survivor, and was also present on the day to witness the shoot and interviews. A testament to how close to home the cause is for many New Zealanders.
A big thank you must go out to Kate Fill-Wilson at Alexandra Park for her help with the setup of the day, and also to Jay Abernethy who provided a horse for the photo shoot also. Jay kindly donated his fee for providing his horse to the Team Teal campaign. Thank you also to Nicky, Samantha and Sheree for taking a day off to be a part of the coverage.
Although unfortunately there was one error in the story due to a miscommunication between the journalist and her editing teams, we can assure you Nicky is not a single mother. Of course Nicky saw the funny side of this error and was able to have a laugh about it!
