A horror week for the elite of the All Stars team continued when Vincent was forced out of Saturday’s A$100,000 Ballarat Cup.
Co-trainer Natalie Rasmussen pulled the Auckland Cu winner out of the race after he was found to have a bump on his leg.
“He came out of the paddock with it and we don’t know how serious it is,” explains Rasmussen.
“But we can’t risk him this week and we will have an ultrasound taken and then know more.”
Rasmussen is still hopeful Vincent can make it to the A$200,000 Chariots Of Fire at Menangle on February 10, which is his main summer target and would be a springboard to the Miracle Mile on February 24.
VIncent joins champion stablemate Lazarus on the sidelines as well as his own arch rival Ultimate Machete.
The latter pair were both sore in the hooves after the Fremantle Cup last Friday, with Mark Purdon suggesting they are on the improve but they still miss Friday night’s West Australia Cup.
So the All Stars have had to scratch three favoured runners from A$500,000 worth of races in the space of 24 hours.
That has not only seen a reshuffle of the markets for those races but put markets for the Hunter Cup, Chariots and Miracle Mile on hold.
