Banjup trainer Colin Brown trained his first quartet of winners when he won four of the eight races at the Albany meeting on December 22nd.
His four winners came with Arma Rich Girl, Fortunate Adda, Eden Franco and Maxentius and he drove each of the four.
Arma Rich Girl was bred by Jim Currie and is a half-sister to Currie’s former champion filly Arma Xpress which was Australian 2yo Filly of the Year in 2012.
Brown had previously trained three winners at a meeting twice in 1990 and 2000 and he has now trained 791 winners to sit in 11th position in the all-time listing of WA trainers.
The four wins as a driver took his career tally to 2883 which ranks Brown second only to Chris Lewis in Western Australia.
Brown’s daughter Maddison, a former successful reinswoman, had three rides at the Bunbury gallops meeting on Christmas Eve and won with Wavehill Spur and Keepers Son before finishing second on the 100/1 chance Clappa Thunder.
Wavehill Spur is trained by WA harness trainer/driver Tonia Stampalia.
