Butt sources next Sydney horse
Kiwi trainer Tim Butt, who has just set up a new barn at Menangle in Sydney, has acquired the next horse to join his burgeoning team.
Tough-as-teak Canterbury mare She’sa Tricky Bridge has been purchased by a new client of Butts and will soon cross the Tasman.
“I’ve always liked her and we made some enquiries and the deal was finalised earlier this week,” he said.
The Stonebridge Regal mare has won three times for current trainer John McDermott but has also placed 19 times, often earning praise for her rugged toughness and staying ability.
Butt’s Australian team already includes Grand Circuit pacer Field Marshall, Letsgotothehop and the exciting four-year-old Let It Ride, who was a huge winner at Melton on Victoria Cup night last Saturday.
The Dorchester for Ashburton
Classy three-year-old pacer The Dorchester has been scratched from tomorrow night’s Sires Stakes Series heat at Addington by trainer Mitchell Kerr.
Kerr will opt to take the son of Mach Three to a grade race at Ashburton on Monday instead.
The Dorchester has won three of his four starts to date including an impressive win over predominantly older horses like Whittaker, Shineonucrazydiamond and Franco Texas at Addington last Thursday night.
Kerr is off to a rollicking start to the season, winning nine races from 23 starters.
