Mrs Alice Craven the matriarch of the Craven dynasty passed away (suddenly) at her home Jilliby in Terang on Friday July 10.
Alice loved nothing more than watching on Sky Channel her grandsons Matt & Glen Craven and Jason Lee competing at the races, celebrating their victories and not holding back if she thought they drove an ill-judged race.
She was so proud of her family and made a rare appearance at Tabcorp Park Melton in May to witness Jilliby Jitterbug trained by daughter Marg (Lee) winning the (Group 1) Australian Pacing Gold with Jason in the sulky.
Alice’s late husband Harold an institution in the Terang district passed away less than six months ago.
Sincere sympathy is extended to all the members of the Craven family – Peter, Des, John, Harry, Helen, Marg and their extended families.
The funeral will be held in Terang on Tuesday.
