Most harness racing people would know and acknowledge that Ian & Judi Slater of Goodtime Lodge are very highly respected and much loved in our sport. The fact that they are now the 3rd biggest stud in Victoria may be missed by some.
They stand Allamerican Ingot, Goodtime Sammy, Major in Art and one of the leading sires in NA Shadyshark Hanover. They have a beautiful property only minutes out of Colac in Victoria and those within the industry could say one of the best setups in Australia. It’s to be noted that Judi and Ian are far from slowing down their investment in the sport; in fact they are just about to commence work on a “state of the art” water walker, which is very unique on an exclusive harness racing set up.
The Goodtime pre-fix has seen some very gifted horses carry it’s name – like Goodtime Sammy who was undefeated in four starts as a two-year-old. Had he remained sound, there is no telling what he may have accomplished.
He won the Youthful Stakes and a heat of the Australian Pacing Gold at Melton and took his record of 1:54 winning the semi-final of the APG at Menangle, all despite being hampered by injury.
Goodtime Marjie was a mare that was also lost to the track way to early. A super-fast filly that had 10 wins from her 23 starts (add a listed Classic win under her belt in those wins ) and had a huge future in front of her until an injury forced her into the breeding paddock.
The Slaters are looking to grow and build a new owners group of harness racing enthusiasts that would like to join them and share their success in the sport. The kind of people that are looking for a GOOD TIME and to have lots of fun without the risk of costs blowing out.
Goodtime Lodge purchased Lot 77 from the APG sales in Melbourne this year and they put together an amazing package so 4 lucky people can join them in owning and racing this exciting well bred filly. Astute buyer’s thought this was one of the buys of the sale as this filly is out of the full sister of the star colt Follow The Stars.
Follow The Stars only had 29 starts as a two and three-year-old, winning 19 times and running up earnings of $707,237.
If this Mach Three filly can produce the same lightning speed the Goodtime owners group are in for a hell of a ride.
Each $6500 share will include a 10% ownership of this exciting filly, futurities , braking, insurance and agistment for 12 months. After that the training fee is $110 a month.
Please contact Ian for details on this wonderful opportunity to join an team of Goodtime people
