6A winning double at last Monday’s Pinjarra meeting with Rock Diamonds and Gaz Wannabet brought up the 1000th win for the training partnership of Greg and Skye Bond.

Gaz Wannabet was also the stable’s 100th winner for the season.

They landed another winning double on Tuesday at Gloucester Park with Mcclinchie and Mister Daytona to lift their tally of Gloucester Park winners to 474.

The training partnership began in the 2011/12 season and their first winner was Pablito at Gloucester Park on October 11th 2011.

They headed the WA Trainers Premiership that season with 158 winners and this year they are chasing their third consecutive title after heading the list in 2014/15 with a State Record 221 winners and in 2015/16 with 220 winners.

The partnership’s have notched up five Group One wins courtesy of Baby Bling in the 2012 Mares Classic, Mitch Maguire in last season’s Golden Slipper and the champion mare Dodolicious which won the 2016 WA Oaks, the 2015 2yo Westbred Classic and 2016 3yo Westbred Classic.

Previously they trained as individuals with Greg Bond training 395 winners between 1984 and 3rd October 2011 and Skye Bond training 92 winners with seven of those as Skye Manley before her marriage.

In a remarkable piece of Ripley’s Believe It Or Not trivia, heading into tonight’s Gloucester Park meeting the Bond stable’s 1002 winners feature 388 driven by former stable driver Colin Brown and 388 by current stable driver Ryan Warwick.

Tonight they will put the gear on Delightful Offer and Our Jimmy Johnstone in the $450,000 Tabtouch WA Pacing Cup.

The Bonds will be hoping for a change of luck in the State’s biggest race as to date, from a total of four starters their best finish have been fourth placings with Our Jimmy Johnstone last year and Russley Rascal in 2013.
